Today in 1971, Led Zeppelin performed at Madison Square Garden to an overly packed and enthusiastic crowd.

As the show began, more than 19,000 fans rushed towards the stage, lead singer Robert Plant kept things under control by talking with the audience and calming theme down. 

Most of the evening consisted of numbers from “Led Zeppelin IV”, tickets were sold for $5.50 US per ticket.
