BABE-1B.A.B.E. charmed grocers at Loblaw’s at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto during the week of the city’s Gay Pride festivities. The store, all dressed up with rainbow balloons, was treated to a wonderful show, played by the all-girl hip hip and reggae band, B.A.B.E.

This up-and-coming band performed a long acoustic set as a duo with lead singer Bridgette Anderson and her guitarist. Those in attendance could enjoy the catchy tunes – both originals and covers – as they shopped, or they could sit and enjoy the music whilst eating at the food court.

The band featured clever, on-spot mixing and looping of songs, as well as several mash-ups.

BABE-5Bridgette also delighted the audience with her vocal instrumentation, where she used nothing but her voice and the microphone to create sounds like trumpets and saxophones.

The duo also teamed up with a drummer for a short stint on the big stage during the festival itself, proudly displaying beautiful custom jewelry by Laborde Designs.

Check B.A.B.E out next at the Home Opener event in Barrie,Ont., at The Clarkson Pub on August 17. A guaranteed good time –  these girls are fiercely entertaining.
