November 6, 1975

Nov6On this day in 1975, The Sex Pistols performed their very first show, a gig at St. Martin’s School of Art in London.

The group opened for the band Bazooka Joe. Notorious Sex Pistols bass player Sid Vicious had not yet joined the group; on bass was original member Glen Matlock (it was actually his school that their show was at).

The singer of Bazooka Joe was so¬†inspired by the Pistols’ set that he dropped out of art school, changed his music style and renamed himself Adam Ant.
