Directly from Oviedo, Spain, Stormy Mondays is truly a historic band. Not only do they create wildly amusing and entertaining music, but even won NASA’s space rock contest and saw their music played in space aboard the Endeavor Space Shuttle. And if that weren’t enough, the group also played Woodstock ’99 – the only Spanish band to ever do so – and opened for none other than Bruce Springsteen.
The band offers an amazing mix of harmonies that are made up of a plethora of instruments. Their music, which perfectly aligns with their lyrics, is a joy to listen to – and to dance to!
Led by Jorge Otero, Stormy Mondays is able to blend that full and unique sound, thanks to the band’s eight members playing almost 30 different instruments. Otero isn’t a rookie either: he’s toured Europe extensively as a guitarist for American artists, such as Willie Nile, Cindy Bullens, Joe Grushecky and Elliott Murphy.
