On this day in 2007, Lionel Richie appeared as a vocal guest on the TV show, The Simpsons.

Titled, “He Loves to Fly and He D’ohs.” This was Season 19, Episode 1 (401 episode overall.)  This was also the first episode to air after the release of The Simpsons Movie, it featured a new title sequence, exclusive to this episode because of this.

Comedian and talk show host Stephen Colbert also guest starred in the episode.
