Nominated for: Best International or Classical
What was the first thing that came to mind when you learned you were nominated? The first thing I thought of when I received the nomination was Chris Broom who composed 8 of the 12 tracks from my debut album ‘Remembering Heaven’ and what a journey it has been for us. When I took on the project to produce my album, I really had no idea what I was doing or how to do it. It’s really been an intense year learning about the music industry and I’m very excited to see that my accomplishments are getting recognized.
What will you do if you win? It would probably put me on cloud nine for a while. As musician, getting recognized and receiving validation for ones artistry is all you ever want. So winning would be the cherry on top.
Why should you win? I think what seperates my recordings from others is the fact that this was an international collaboration and features a full orchestra backing which was recorded by the Air Edel Studio Orchestra. Although operatically trained, I tried to bring a fresh approach and blend modern elements into the style. So I think based on originality and production my music stands out from other artists.
If you weren’t nominated, who would you be rooting for? I would hate to be one of the judges. There is SO much talent in each category I wouldn’t even know where to start. I think everyone has such a unique vibe to them and all deserve to win.
Other comments? Thank you for interviewing me. If anyone is interested in knowing more about me as an artists or purchasing the album, ‘Remembering Heaven ‘ is available on iTunes or through my website www.alessandrapaonessa.com.
