Feb9On this day in 1964, The Beatles appeared on Ed Sullivan Show, in their first U.S. TV appearance, which a record-setting 73 million Americans tuned in to watch.

The band performed ‘All My Loving’, ‘Till There Was You’, ‘She Loves You’, ‘I Saw Her Standing There’ and ‘I Want To Hold Your Hand’.

CBS was flooded with requests for tickets, even Walter Cronkite and Richard Nixon called in to try and score tickets for their daughters to that week’s Ed Sullivan Show!
