‘In My Solitude’, the fist single from Del Bel’s upcoming self-titled release, is the kind of song that you hear over the opening credits of a TV show, then spend months trying to find out what it’s called and where you can get it, and then another coupe of months listening to it over, and over, and over.
And if it’s any indication of what we can expect from the band’s February 10 album, be very excited.
This second single is a gothic masterpiece. It’s got a hollow bass, larger-than-life guitars, and distant and eerily beautiful vocals. The song is quiet and throbbing at the same time. It’s the kind of track you feel deep in your chest, creeping warmly across your arms.
The band – comprised of Tyler Belluz (composer) and Lisa Conway (lead vocals) – certainly nails the vampiristic cinematic thing quite easily. ‘The Rains’, an earlier single from the soon-to-be-released album, also heavily featured a quiet creepy tone. That song, though, incorporated softly crying brass instruments into the jazzy tune, perfectly complimenting the eclectic video, which you can watch below.
Del Bel’s self-titled sophomore effort is set for release on February 10.
