November 6, 1975

Nov6On this day in 1975, The Sex Pistols performed their very first show, a gig at St. Martin’s School of Art in London.

The group opened for the band Bazooka Joe. Notorious Sex Pistols bass player Sid Vicious had not yet joined the group; on bass was original member Glen Matlock (it was actually his school that their show was at).

The singer of Bazooka Joe was so inspired by the Pistols’ set that he dropped out of art school, changed his music style and renamed himself Adam Ant.
