May 27, 1958

May27On this day in 1958, singer-songwriter Neil Mullane Finn was born in New Zealand.

Finn’s first success in the music business happened after he joined his brother Tim Finn’s band the Split Enz in the late ’70s.

Finn started writing his own songs, and hits such as ‘I Got You’ were just the beginning. After the finale of the Split Enz, Finn joined the group Crowded House in 1985. Songs such as ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’, ‘Weather With You’, ‘Something So Strong’ and ‘Better Be Home Soon’ are just a few of the successful hits Finn has released.

Today Finn is happily married with children, living in New Zealand, and continuing to tour with both Crowded House and as a solo performer.
