JUNE28On this day in 1977, David Bowie’s ‘Fame’ was released.

The song was written by Bowie, Carlos Alomar and John Lennon, and was recorded in 1975 at Electric Lady Land Studios in New York. Lennon provided backing vocals on the track and Harry Maslin and Bowie acted as producers.

The song became Bowie’s first No. 1 hit on the American charts.
