July5On this day in 1983, Suicidal Tendencies release their self-titled debut album.

Recorded in February of 1983 at Golden Age Recording in Hollywood, California, the album was produced by Glen E. Friedman and released on Frontier Records.

The song ‘I  Shot the Devil’ was originally titled ‘I  Shot Reagan’. The band was visited by the FBI and were asked to change the title.

The album also contains ‘Institutionalized’, Suicidal Tendencies’ biggest hit to date.
