Indie Week :: Goliath Paw

GoliathPaw-1The energy that Goliath Paw, another Ottawa native, brought to the Tota Lounge stage for Indie Week was absolutely unparalleled. The rapper bounced around on stage, and the guitarist was equally insane – in a great way!

That energy, too, was infectious, and the crowd responded perhaps the best it had all night.

The electric guitar added a grungy-punk edge to the music, pulling it from being just another hip hop act. Much like the performances before them, Goliath Paw were unafraid of pushing the boundaries of the modern genre. The live guitarist was a first step, and I can certainly see a future shift that would add more of a full-bodied sound to the live show.

But that’s not to say it was flat at Tota. Not a soul in the club was unimpressed with their phenomenal set. The duo went absolutely nuts on stage – they never stopped – and the crowd most definitely responded to that.
