December 1, 1957

Dec1On this day in 1957, The Ed Sullivan Show had an amazing line-up of legends hit the stage.

Buddy Holly and the Crickets performed ‘That’ll Be The Day’, Sam Cooke performed ‘You Send Me’, and The Rays performed ‘Silhouettes’.

Sam Cooke’s performance, though, was accidentally cut short, so Sullivan booked him again the very next day to make up for the error.

IT was each musician’s first time on national TV.
