Aug31On this day in 1955, Sidney Turner was fined three pounds, ten shillings by a London judge for “creating an abominable noise”.

Turner threatened his neighbours by saying, “I will drive you mad.” He then played Bill Haley & the Comets’ ‘Shake Rattle & Roll’ as loud as possible from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
