October7Today in 1975, John Lennon was awarded his Green Card at a hearing in New York.

Lennon was finally awarded his permanent residency status after a judge overturned previous efforts to deport the Beatle.

The three-judge panel at the U.S. Court of Appeals ruled that Lennon’s 1968 arrest in England for marijuana possession was “contrary to the U.S. ideas of due process and was invalid as a means of banishing the former Beatle from America.”
