The video was shot over three days in Oregon. Director Justin Koleszar, had this to say about the video:
“We tested our smoke machine in a Walmart parking lot while enjoying some Coors Lights. Our actor Luke Clements almost died when he stumbled on the edge a cliff that overlooked a 1000ft drop. We found a dozen deer hooves in the middle of the desert and later had dinner at Abby’s Legendary Pizza.”
The song is an electro-bluesy trip, with Jurado’s soothing, whispery vocals sliding across the baselines.
The video makes great use of the outback landscape – deserts and canyons and mountains all make prominent appearances, adding perfectly to the new-world tone of the track.
Damien Jurado’s Brothers and Sisters of the Eternal Son is set for release on January 21. In December, he’ll embark on a European tour, before tackling the U.S. in January.
