MonksOfMellonwah-NeurogenesisA fresh and fascinating rock/alt-rock band is gaining significant popularity throughout their homeland, Australia, and abroad. The Monks of Mellonwah are gaining worldwide acclaim through tours and international travel, and are becoming more and more recognized nationally and internationally.

Strongly influenced by the epic legends and their music – Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and the Red Hot Chili Peppers – the Monks of Mellonwah are making momentous statements with their entrancing music and expressive metaphors, whichare  played on radio stations across Australia, and recently receiving more exposure abroad. And, with the growing media attention, they have earned reviews worldwide and a number of spots in production companies such as, The Discovery Network, Bunim Murray, MTV, Big Takeover Magazine, CMJ, Kings of A&R, Noise 11, and Tonedeaf.

Their strong lyrical composition and fascinating rhythm paved the way for the Monks of Mellonwah to tour L.A. and win an award, Best International Rock Art, at the L.A. Music Awards. They made appearances at the renowned Whiskey A Go-Go in L.A. and at the Mercury Lounge in NYC.

The talented members include: Vikram Kaushik (vocalist), Joe de la Hoyde (vocalist and guitarist) and Josh Baissari (drums). Their first EP, Stars Are Out, was released in 2010 and their first music video, ‘Swamp Groove’, released in April 2011, was aired on ABC’s music program Rage. Their second EP, Neurogenesis, was released in May 2012 and is receiving rave reviews!

While currently working on their debut album, the Monks of Mellonwah are touring abroad, supporting their album release. Let’s all keep our eyes and ears open for this new, talented rock band making headway in the music industry!
