July 10, 2010

July10On this day in 2010, Eminem’s album, Recovery hit No.1 on the Billboard Top 200.

It would remain there for five consecutive weeks. It was the first time that an album had been able to stay afloat for so long. Previously, Susan Boyle’s I Dreamed a Dream stayed on the charts for four weeks in 2009.

Eminem’s lyrical genius had definitely recovered with this record, and he’s been back with endless hits ever since.
