Joy Orbison
During a frigid early-February night, London-based post-dubstep DJ, Joy Orbison, performed a set at Wrongbar in Toronto.
Gera, followed by Kevin McPhee, primed the scattered audience members with tame sets, the latter receiving more attention than the former due to a slightly fuller venue.
Orbison silently took to the stage around 12:30 and began his set. Heads bobbed and bodies writhed to the deep bass all throughout the bar. Joy’s concentration was evident in his always-furrowed brows. He worked his set up and he occasionally glanced up to smile at the crowd.
He had the whole bar in the palm of his hand with a flawless set complete with smooth transitions that made it easy to get lost in the electric sounds.
