In honour of Saint Valentine. . . .

Today, Big Brother (read: Facebook) released a list of the top five love songs and the top five break up songs.

The list comes from changes made to American users’ Spotify playlist (it’s a Facebook app) following a change in relationship status.

Here’s the list:

Tops Five Love Songs:

blog-14Feb2012-photo15 – ‘Good Feeling’ by Flo Rida

4 – ‘Just The Way You Are’ by Bruno Mars

3 – ‘How to Love’ by Lil Wayne

2 – ‘Love On Top’ by Beyonce

1 – ‘Don’t Wanna Go Home’ by Jason Derulo

Top Five Break Up Songs:

blog-14Feb2012-photo25 – ‘Take Care’ by Drake

4 – ‘Rolling in the Deep’ by Adele

3 – ‘All of the Lights’ by Kanye West

2 – ‘Crew Love’ by Drake

1 – ‘The Cave’ by Mumford & Sons

Now, I wouldn’t consider ‘All of the Lights’ a break up song, per se. And ‘Don’t Wanna Go Home’ isn’t really about love (or another person) at all.

So, I wonder how accurate this list is. . . .

If I had to make my own list (and we know how I love lists), this is what it might look like:

Olivia’s Top Three Love Songs:

3 – ‘Daydreamer’ by Adele

2 – ‘Blueberry Hill’ by Fats Domino

1 – ‘Time’s A Wastin” by Johnny Cash and June Carter

Olivia’s Top Three Break-Up Songs:

3 – ‘Too Hurt to Dance’ by Duffy

2 – ‘Ex-Girlfriend’ by No Doubt

1 – ‘California (Do You Still?)’ by Jarrod Dickenson
