What’s up this week. . . .

Let’s start with the Polaris Music Prize.

In a completely unshocking non-twist, Arcade Fire won for their album, The Suburbs.

I’m a tad disappointed, to be honest. Now, don’t get me wrong – the band is fantastic, they are wonderful musicians and they deserve every ounce of credit and media adoration that they get.

With that said, we really hoped that the good folks at Polaris wouldn’t have taken such an easy way out.

Was The Suburbs a good album?

Sure.

Was it great?

Wouldn’t quite go that far.

Were there better ones nominated?

Yep.

Anyway, you can read all about who we, here at Raz Mataz, wanted to win.

In other news, our very first ever contest closed today, and we’d like to thank every single person who entered! We loved seeing what you guys are wearing on the concert circuit.

We’ll be announcing the winners the Clothing Show contest by Thursday, so stay tuned!

As always, we love hearing from you, so drop us a line at here or here.

So, if you’re a writer who wants to write, or you’re in a band that needs to be written on, we’ll be here.

Cheers
